A week or so ago I was walking near Harlington and came across several fields which had been sown with clover as a cover crop. I hadn’t seen clover used like this before and I was quite surprised to see large, bushy plants covered with gorgeous pink flowers spread over a fairly large acreage. I hadn’t been there over the past few months so not sure what the fields had been cropped with previously. Presumably, the clover was being grown to add nitrogen and organic matter to the soil when ploughed in later.
